DPHV - D'Aronco, Pineau, Hébert, Varin is a specialized engineering consulting firm that offers professional and technical expertise in structural engineering, from design to construction, in a wide variety of fields: design, assembly and construction of residential, commercial or industrial buildings, stadiums, airports, transportation and telecommunications infrastructures. We also offer services for securing work environments (temporary or permanent lifelines), surveys, inspections and analyses of existing structures at heights, on steep terrain (rope inspection) and in confined spaces.

The Project Engineer will actively participate in the design of steel, reinforced concrete and wood structures in accordance with codes and other regulations in collaboration with the DPHV detailing and engineering team. In addition, he/she will participate in the detailed design of plans and specifications as well as produce technical reports and opinions following inspections and field surveys.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs design, coordination and verification of various small, medium and large-scale structural projects according to the client's needs;
  • Analyze, design and adapt steel, concrete and wood building structures in commercial, residential, institutional and industrial projects;
  • Participate in the design of erection sequences, the design of temporary stability elements and the sizing of lifting devices used in the erection of structures;
  • Ensure that plans meet project requirements and building codes and standards.
  • Supervise the preparation of plans and specifications;
  • Support technicians, draftsmen and junior engineers;
  • Verify and coordinate work in progress in collaboration with other project stakeholders;
  • Administer projects in collaboration with the administrative managers (project management);
  • Assist the administrative manager in the preparation of service offers;
  • Manage the technical staff attached to the project and participate in site meetings;
  • Carry out surveys of existing facilities
  • Write technical specifications and reports
  • Participate in the supervision of the work

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or building engineering with a specialization in structure
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience - experience in the consulting engineering field in Quebec will be considered an asset
  • Valid ASP card
  • Have a driver's license and access to a vehicle for work-related travel (asset)
  • Knowledge of ETABS, SAP and SAFE software
  • Knowledge of Tekla and/or REVIT modeling software (an asset)
  • Team spirit, resourcefulness, autonomy and good work organization
  • French, oral and written, functional English.
