Your duties and main responsibilities:
The CEP (structural steel profile) will play an active role in the design and dimensioning of complex steel structure assemblies and engineering structures, as well as designing temporary structures to stabilize structures under construction, following careful analysis and development of an assembly sequence. His involvement starts at the very beginning of a structural steel design project. During fabrication, he or she will design assemblies, coordinate models, assist with fabrication and site erection. Versatile by nature, the structural engineer must be able to organize his or her work well in order to manage the many mandates entrusted to him or her.
- Design assemblies in compliance with codes and standards required for various types of structural steel buildings
- Assist steel fabricators with technical support for steel fabrication and manufacturing sequencing of high-complexity structural elements
- Design and analyze steel structures
- Assist in the design of structural steel erection sequences, the design of temporary stability elements, and the sizing of lifting devices used in structural erection.
Your qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in civil or building engineering, structural option (completed or in progress)
- Master's degree in structural engineering (an asset)
- Structural steel design courses (compulsory)
- Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) as a CEP (or in process)
- Internship or work experience in a facility (asset)
- Knowledge of ETABS, SAP and SAFE software
- ASP card
Your profile:
- Strong interest in structural design and engineering
- Intellectual curiosity, desire to learn
- Mastery of the French language (oral and written) (compulsory)
- Fluency in English (reading and written) - as many customers are located in the United States
- Excellent time and priority management
- Team spirit, attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and interest in improving automated calculation tools
