Your profile :
We are looking for a Senior Structural Draftsman/Technician to join our Design Engineering team in our Laval office. Organized and endowed with strong leadership skills, our future colleague will play a key role in technical coordination, ensuring fluid and effective communication between the various professionals involved in projects. Your interpersonal skills and your ability to mobilize stakeholders will make you an essential asset in ensuring the successful completion of projects. Working closely with the engineering team, you'll play an active role in coordinating the many technical aspects of building and structural construction projects, to ensure that projects are completed on time and on budget. Your involvement will start right from the survey stage, through the preparation of structural engineering models and plans, right up to on-site implementation (supervision).
Tasks and main responsibilities :
- Lay out residential, municipal, commercial, industrial and institutional projects usingAutoCad or REVIT Structure 3D modeling.
- Participate in the minor design of structural elements with project engineers
- Carry out quality control of drawings and documents prepared by team members in compliance with internal standards
- Participate in the establishment of drawing standards in his/her discipline
- Participate in the supervision and coaching of the drafting team
- Coordinate work with the various departments and professionals involved in projects
- Prepare feasibility studies for various projects
- Carry out site follow-up in the office and occasional visits to the job site
- Participate in on-site meetings and handle correspondence
- Validate shop drawings
- Ensure good ongoing relations with customers
- Prepare site surveys, studies and reports.
Your professional skills :
- DEP in building drafting / DEC in civil engineering option “structure” / DEC in architecture combined with significant experience in a coordination position (approx. 10 years);
- Passionate about structures;
- Excellent command of Autocad and REVIT software
- Possess an attestation of general health and safety on construction sites (ASP card)
- Good knowledge of the Quebec Construction Code and the National Building Code of Canada (major asset)
- Knowledge of BIM (Major asset)
- Ability to work on several projects in parallel
- Organizational skills and excellent team player;
- Fluency in French is essential and a working knowledge of English would be an asset.
